Peri-Peri Mushroom Seasoning
Smoky peri-peri spice built on a mushroom powder base — great on fries and grills.
Dust generously over hot fries or grilled paneer straight off the heat so it clings while warm.
About this product
Peri-peri seasoning is usually built around chilli heat and a citrusy, slightly smoky edge, and that's the profile we've aimed for here — with mushroom powder underneath the spice blend adding a savoury body that keeps the seasoning from tasting purely hot. Without that umami base, a lot of peri-peri-style seasonings taste like heat and not much else once the initial spice hit fades; the mushroom powder is what gives this one a lingering depth after the chilli backs off.
It's built for finishing rather than marinating — toss it over fries or roasted potatoes straight out of the oven, dust it onto grilled paneer or vegetables while they're still hot so the powder clings to the surface, or mix a spoonful into mayo or curd for a quick dip. It doesn't dissolve the way our umami seasoning does in a liquid dish; this one is meant to sit on a dry or lightly oiled surface.
Spice level here is meant to read as noticeably hot rather than mild, so if you're seasoning for a mixed group, we'd suggest starting with a light dusting and adding more rather than going in heavy on the first pass — it's easier to add than to correct for.
